NEWPORT TRACK SESSION MARCH 30th 2013

HI All

As promised we have booked the Newport Velodrome exclusively for the club on March 30th 1600-1900hrs and we will be having a specialist Track coach.

The cost will be £12 each based on 24 riders any more and we have to have a second coach. I have requested the coach that we use for the winter track sessions that Beacon run as he is really good.

Anyone 10 and over can attend and ride on the track the coach will accommodate any level from complete beginners to those more experienced. He will split the groups up so beginners will not ride with the more experienced

Members younger than 10 are very welcome but they will have to watch. However there is plenty of space for them to have a ride outside if they want to bring their bikes and stretch their legs but the club will not be supervising this at this time so it will have to be each parent looking after their own children. So riders bring a spare adult if you want to bring the kids.

Track bikes can be hired at a cost of £7.20 per adult and £3.60 per Junior pedals are Delta clipless or normal toes straps which are quite adequate.

Helmets and gloves MUST be worn. You will not be allowed to ride without either and suitable cycling clothing.

This is a great opportunity for everyone to have a go on a real velodrome like Sir Chris Hoy and Laura Trott. We had a great time on our last trip and its also a chance to meet fellow club members.

I will require a £5 deposit for everyone booking by the end of February at the latest but I will arrange this individually with those who book. I'm not sure if we will be hiring a coach to go down there yet so watch this space for more info. I'll know more after the next committee meeting on this Thursday.

Newport list of confirmed riders that have contacted me to book a place for 30th March. We have 24 confirmed and 3 reserves now, if we can get another 3 then we can book a second track coach and increase the numbers to 30 and keep the price the same. So lets find another 3 willing members or their friends and see if we can open the session up further.

OK I have enquired into having another coach and extending numbers to 30 but i need to make sure everyone who has booked a place is definately coming. I would like all payments in by wednesday 13th Feb please so I can finalise and ensure I am not going to be out of pocket.

I have enquired into hiring a coach (one with wheels!) to tranport the riders and supporters en masse to Newport.

In order for the club not to lose money the cost of the coach will have to be divided by the number of passengers - and until I know the number of passengers I can't give an exact cost per person, a bit of a catch 22 situation. That said, if we can fill the 49 seater coach it will be £10 per person, if there are 30 passengers it will be £16.50 per person.

Can you please let me know if you are interested in getting a coach at a cost per person of between £10.00 - £16.50 and how many seats you will require. Obviously the more who get the coach the cheaper it will be.

Thanks - we will either be coming back from wales or on our way so we will be driving.

Tony C said him and stewart will be going by car as well. I think we may struggle to fill a full size coach although with petrol prices £16.50 is still quite reasonable.

Hi All

I have booked a second track coach so everyone who wanted to go can so all of the reserves have a place plus James and April Rees and Gary King. I need all your monies in ASAP now I was hoping for a deadline of 13th Feb but that looks to be passing. I have put a list of those who I need to collect money off. This is not meant to be a name and shame as I know you will all do your best to let me have the monies and some only found out today (sorry). And you will note I haven't paid myself yet!!!

Thanks to everyone who has already responded, however in order to run a coach (with wheels) we need 40 takers. This works out at £12.50 per person. If there are less than 40 takers the coach won't run. I need to know by 24th February, at the latest, if you require a seat on the coach. Thanks.
